This module consist of the basic hands-on elements that a forest school leader or support would usually experience and be familiar with. The skills and craft learnt in the modules can be easily related to non-forest school environment easily as well.
Content & Agenda of Training Module
(i) RISK ASSESSMENT EXERCISE
To be able to actively assess terrain and environment for safe traversing within the forest.
(ii) TOOL TALK & USAGE
To be able to use a knife safely, and facilitate younger participants on how to use the knife using tools talks, proper briefings and supervision
(iii) FSS FIRST AID-ING
To deliver basic first aid skills on Cuts, Falls, Bites
(iv) ROLE-PLAYING (DEPENDING ON COHORT – BONUS)
To empathise with the different behaviour of a child in a forest school session, and have a practical understanding of how to manage children
