Module 28: Create a Forest School

“Guide towards building an Establishment in Equilibrium”
This module is a organisational module, that works on understanding how to start, create and maintain your own forest school within the community of your choice. There is a huge amount of variable to consider and attend to in making a sustainable Forest School. In this module, you will learn all the intricate elements and how you can make it happen.

Content & Agenda of Training Module

Community (Relationships)
The Community is the most precious element of creating a forest school. The community sustains the forest school via their beliefs and support. Having a strong community who have a stake in the Forest School presence is paramount in the Forest School continuing through the age of time.

Areas covered: Personal | Team | Parents | Participants | Extended Communities

Environment (Connectable)
In Forest School the environment is the main teacher of the “curriculum”, the safety headmaster and the campus altogether. Understanding the environment you choose to create the forest school is extremely important.

Areas covered: Location | Safety | Impact | Connection

Business (Sustainable)
The Forest School will need to be able to feed you and your team, in order for it to be a sustainable initiative that can continue to inspire others and develop Forest School ways in the community. Running a Forest School business is like creating a new form of business model that values balance, sustainability, reasonableness and relationships over profit margins and greed.

Areas covered: Puporse | Values | Exit

Process (BackBone)

For a Forest School to operate with an organic longevity, involvement of the community is important. The backbone is formed by quiet unseen elements of a business, that help give clarity for the community during the start. As time goes by, the community may even be capable of being the many parts of the backbone.

Areas covered: Administrative | Operational | Communication | Human Resource

***Note on Keeping an Open Mind
What you learn must not be taken as the fact or the only truth in your learning journey. It should serve as a guiding force/direction to your understanding. It is your prerogative to focus on where you can relate and learn better.
