Two Doors of Enrolment

The two doors refer to our Open House and Tryout sessions. The intention is to provide opportunities for parents and children to learn and understand more about what we do in FS sessions, so that they will sign up for our weekly session. This helps to ensure parents and children are well-informed and confident in their decision to join our classes.

🚪The First Door: Open House (beginner)

(What)

Open House offers individuals and families the opportunity to visit and explore the selected “classroom” of FSS. Additionally, visitors can gain insights into our approach and methods through conversations with FSS community members and special guests.

(Why)

We have been hosting Open Houses since the second half of 2023 and have observed an increase in registrations from these sessions. We think it is a good platform for both FSS and the parents. It helps to create awareness and allow us to engage with potential parents. It helps to establish a personal connection and address their questions or concerns.

(How)

It is a free-and-easy event. No fees or registration will be required. We will announce the details of the next Open House on our various channels once they are confirmed.. Coaches are welcome to support the sessions in your free time.

Occasionally, we will invite special guests to join our Open House.

🚪The Second Door: Tryout sessions (intermediate)

(What)

These tryout sessions will follow our One-day camp format, with the target audience being parents who want their children to experience an FS session before committing to our classes.

(Why)

We have received requests for trial sessions; however, for various reasons, we are currently unable to accommodate in-session trials, especially for new parents. We recognise how these sessions can help ease the anxiety or uncertainty that parents and children might have about attending something new & unfamiliar like a Forest School. As such, the best alternative we can offer is tryout sessions. We believe that this would allow the children to experience firsthand what the program entails, giving them a taste of the overall experience and helping them determine if it’s a good fit for them.

(How)

As this is a new program that we will be introducing in 2024, we will make an announcement on our various channels. Details will be posted on the website where the parents can register their child for the session. Similar to our other programs, a Whatsapp group will be created at least 3 days before the program. At the end of the tryout sessions, the admin team will follow up with these parents regarding enrollment and provide them with the necessary details.
