Activism & Advocacy

( Children’s Rights  Environment  | Education  |  Health )

Our activism into the Children’s Rights, Environment, Education & Health of the society takes a more reflective angle

To empower our children, by protecting their rights to be a child

Children’s Rights | We subscribe strongly to protecting the rights of our children to be children. They should be allowed to experience play, childhood, and freedom.

To bring connection to elements of Nature

Environment |  We emphasise the connection of people to the elements of Nature, as we believe that nurturing  relationships we have with Nature will lead to healthy actions for the environmental movement.

To keep the praxis of Education going

Education | We believe in keeping praxis going, and not resting on our laurels. An evolving reflection, action, and experience journey will reveal more meaningful learning and more effective activism.

To question the system that degrades health for exploitative reasons.

Health | We want to question where the system degrades health for exploitative reasons so that we can improve the health and wellbeing of our ecosystem.

Non-Government Organisation

To Inspire true changes via addressing the roots of issues together

For charity and NGO, we similarly do our best to support those with good intentions and who truly understand the work.. But we will stand up and challenge, when we sense that they are trying to exploit their position. Being a charity organisation does not equate to good impacts for the beneficiaries.. We pay attention to the details of the engagement to discern our approach.

Government-linked Engagement

To Support their reasonable causes, but also challenge their in-effectiveness when it happens

Our approach when supporting and challenging government-linked organisations and the people of such organisations, takes into consideration their effectiveness and reasonable-ness. We support the ones who take a more human-centred approach, while challenging those who come across as dishonourable or obnoxious, with an ivory-tower mentality. We don’t challenge for the sake of challenging, we challenge when we observe wrongs. On the other hand, we actively participate in initiatives and campaigns that are done by these organisations to better understand their intentions and work. Very often, we find many well-intentioned people doing good work.

Legal Approach

To respect the rule of law that makes sense, and challenge those that oppress

We respect the rule of law of the land we operate on. That includes the natural law and the conventions passed down by elders, not just the law of the jurisdiction. Our relationship with legal matters has always involved deep interrogations for why various rules exist, so we can truly practise Forest School in tandem with the spirit of the law. If we see that some rules do not make sense, we actively challenge it, so that our community and the greater ecosystem can benefit from an improved implementation of the rules.
