It is a training to develop a deeper understanding of the essence and inner workings of the Forest School approach and realisations, so as to create our own Forest School or Forest School initiatives to make an impact in the Education and Learning space that we are in. Through the training, individuals will become more authentic Forest School Leaders with a strong Forest School Foundation rooted in the context of Singapore and the Southern Hemisphere. Leaders will bring back with them the force of life, to initiative and take action upon their vision and value of Forest School.

HOW will it look like ?
DAY 1 : INTRODUCTION – Getting to know each other and have a brief insights into FSS Approach
We will spend the morning using our hands to get into the zone of learning, by doing crafts together. In the afternoon, we will learn about the FSS Approach and take some time to be present with our mind in this learning process.
DAY 2 : NATURE-LED – Learn about Environment and Risk awareness
We will dive deep into the more technical aspect of Forest School in terms of Environment assessments and Risk Management. Both key components in how we develop a healthy and meaningful lens to do Forest School with confidence in ourselves and Nature.
DAY 3 : CHILD-LED – Deeper learning about children behaviours in the outdoors and conflicts
We will be riding on all the participants’ experiences in Education to drive their reflection. From there we will co-create realisations and learning that is relevant to the participants’ experience with children with regards to behaviours, fighting and conflicts.
DAY 4 : CONTEXT-LED – Learning about our own context, and the challenges ahead
We will co-create and develop understandings together about the Fear of Educators and Challenges of Forest School. This will then lead to the first part of a mini project phase for the participant, where they create ideas on how to practice FS Approach in their own setting.
DAY 5 : PROJECT – Learning how to implement the FS Approach in the Teacher’s Practice
The last day will be dedicated to participants coming together as groups, to actualise their ideas with the collective intelligence of different people in the group. We will end the training, with a “Shark Tank” like presentation of the ideas to school owner/s and FS trainer/s.
CERTIFICATE / RECOGNITION:
- Upon completion of the 5-Day Training and Initiate a FS practice in your work/life
- You will be given the E-certificate with the Title, Forest School Leader.
