A forest green cotton shirt with our logo on the front and our vision, “Bringing the Forest to the People” written across the back. Hand-drawn and designed by Shin Ee, who was inspired by the ethics of cooperation and community that exists in nature, seen in organisms like mushrooms, who share nutrients with one another through an underground network of mycelium. A mycelium web forms the basis of our ecosystem, just like how Forest School Singapore finds strength through its own network of practitioners and other sister communities.

After ten long years of doing forest school, we have developed a close relationship with the places (and the people of these places!) around Singapore, particularly the forests and the green spaces in the country. Each of these places have become important teachers and mentors in our journey, each with their own unique quirks, stories, habitats and creatures. If we were to tell the full story of each place at length, we would not be able to stop ourselves from talking for days on end about the things that we have encountered. However, we have managed to condense and distill key pieces of information about five of these unique locations in Singapore. From safety information, environmental observations and stories about our children, we hope that this zine will give you a brief introduction of our beloved mentors, guardians and friends in Singapore. 

The proceeds from the sale of our merchandise will go to supporting the Forest School movement in Singapore, particularly, the training and research efforts of Forest School Singapore, as well as to support the Social Pricing system to aid those in need.

Forest School Singapore is not a non-profit or a social enterprise, we are a business.

Furthermore, we have never taken a grant or funding from the government, nor have we taken any loans and investments from big companies or corporations in our ten years of existence, even when finances were rocky.

We believe in and value the effort of the community and the ground to support the work that we do at FSS, to raise the standard of Forest School, both internationally and globally, to fight for the rights of nature and children. Not only will you get to wear a cool t-shirt, but you will also be joining us in our fight and journey towards #BringingTheForestToThePeople!
